Our Doctors

A 20 year resident of Bloomington, Dr. Diane Short graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1990.  She is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and is a co-managing doctor for cataract and LASIK surgery.  She is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association, American Optometric Association and the Stonebelt Optometric Society.  Dr. Short has owned and operated her private practice in Bloomington since 1992 and now is a partner with her son, Dr. Zac Short, in practices in French Lick, Mitchell and Franklin, Indiana.

Dr. Short has been married for 35 years to her husband, Chuck, a local builder and developer.  They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.  Along with seeing patients in her practice, she enjoys reading, working in the yard, and spending time with her family.

 

Dr. Zachary Short graduated with honors from the Indiana University School of Optometry in May 2006.  He is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and is a co-managing doctor for cataract and LASIK surgery.  Dr. Zac has volunteered at Rural Healthcare clinics in central and southern Indiana, as well as performed vision screenings at the Special Olympics and many elementary schools.  He is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association, American Optometric Association,  and the Chamber of Commerce in Mitchell, French Lick and Franklin.

Dr. Zac grew up in Bloomington and attended Bloomington High School South where he was a member of the National Honor Society and played basketball and baseball.  He and his wife, Heather, live in Bloomington with their son, Carter.  Dr. Short provides primary eyecare to patients in both Mitchell and French Lick and enjoys sports and spending time with his family.
